Springfield Striders hosted the 13th Hobble trail race on Sunday in ideal running weather. One hundred competitors completed the 13.5 mile course to the south of Galleywood and endured some tough underfoot conditions after heavy overnight rain.
Tracy Woodyard took the honours in the ladies race holding off the Colchester challenge of Lynn Higgs and Tracey Ranson.
Sandy Macmillan claimed a surprise victory for Colchester, but the Striders filled the next five places with strong runs from Gary Chandler, Tim Brockington, Greg Deacon, Mark Waine and Andy Mason.
