The Paris marathon proved a happy hunting ground for Springfield Striders again this year with three impressive runs.

Husband and wife Paula and Ian Cardy ran 3.46.13 and 3.09.10 respectively, but the star of the show was the unstoppable Paul Molyneux.

 Almost every time the 29 year old dons a white and yellow vest he rewrites the club’s record books. Running with the leading French lady (who finished second), Paul enjoyed some excellent television coverage as he pounded the streets of the capital in a superb personal best time of 2.24.28. He felt he was on for an even better time but suffered from a stomach cramp with two miles to run. Paul was also the first Brit to finish.

Gary Rayner and Darren Sutton ran the Paddock Wood half marathon. It was well organised, a nice rural flat course. Conditions were good. Gary  was pleased with his time, 1hour and 22 minutes 36 seconds and Darren ran 1hour 27 minutes and 56 seconds.
