Brentwood Bonanza

After picking up handfuls of awards at the Dinner on Saturday, Paul Molyneux and Kate Mills continued the excellent work with victories at the Brentwood half marathon on Sunday morning.
For the still improving pharmacist it was one more race victory on his ever growing list, but this time he beat serial Brentwood winner Crispian Bloomfield by a huge margin of over three minutes and claimed yet another club record with his time of 1.08.59.
Kate had led the Essex 20 two weeks ago and had to settle for second after being overtaken at 18 miles. This time she hung on to achieve her first ever victory with a winning time of 1.26.24, which was exactly three minutes ahead of the second lady.
There were plenty more fine runs and personal bests. Nikki Brockbank finished as 4th lady and was joined in the PB stakes by Paula Cardy, Sarah Wenman, Paul Anderson, Ian Cardy, Stuart Putt, Siddy Bowring and Jon Byford. The club took silver in the team behind the local Thrift Green Trotters.
