Course starts Thursday April 17 at 7.15pm at the Rugby Club, Timpsons Lane
Chelmsford. Please come ready to run and have fun. We recommend investing in
a decent sports bra and wearing proper trainers / running shoes.Session finishes 8pm.
The course will run until June 5th. Cost £12, no refunds.
Designed for women absolute beginners and suitable for women hoping to run
all of the Race for Life 5k. No need to have run before.Please note, limited parking so please car share if you come with friends, or walk or
cycle.

There are lots of women members of Springfield Striders. We have single young women and doting grandmothers. Some women like to run and chat, some to run hard and others are just down right competitive!
We have women runners who represent their country and others who just do it for the fun of it.
Whatever your ability you will be made welcome. However, it does help if you can run for about 4 miles non stop as our Thursday night run is usually four to five miles. Club members take anything from 35 minutes to an hour or so to complete the route.
If you are returning to running having been a good runner at school, we will soon have you up to speed and competing. If you have never been competitive before but fancy giving running a real go, we can help. We always run with the men who are also of all abilities and really supportive.
If you are wondering what you would run in, well we dont mind. A lot of women start in jogging pants and comfy top. We recommend you buy a decent sports bra from the start and also that you invest in some running shoes which stop your knees and ankles being damaged. You can buy both of these items in Chelmsford.
If you want to give us a try we suggest you ring one of the committee first so we can look out for you at the club. We can then find someone to run with you and generally answer all your questions. We dont ask anyone to join in a hurry you get plenty of time to decide if this is for you.
